Are you tired of trying to find something entertaining in the music department for your younger children? I think this CD just might be the answer youre looking for. It isnt loaded with x-rated material, nor is it preachy and dry. This is a disc filled with FUN! Hip pop-style melodies combined with some silly lyrics and super entertaining voices, and your child is guaranteed to be not only occupied, but happy, and having a blast.
Kim Esty developed the Kartoon Kids after being taken with the idea of creating an Archie gang-style group of her own. The Squeeze Toy Girl was the first character developed, and the rest just came along naturally
Kimmy the Squeeze Toy Girl is a fantastic role model for young girls. She likes to get good grades in school, loves animals, singing, etc.
Joining Kimmy are:
James Blonde (likes to read mysteries), Poopey Zoo (the cuddly doggy that everyone loves), Tommy Magoo (the sports enthusiast), Cindy Loo (the brainer of the bunch who wants to be a doctor), and Piggy the Duck (hes supposed to quack, but he oinks instead).
|
According to Kim, these Kids are about education, discovering their individual talents, becoming who they want to be, knowing that can be achieved with hard work and perseverance. Its okay to aim high, even if you dont succeed. Aimed at ages 3-7, this is a good set of ideals to instill.

Piggy the Duck explains why Piggy the Duck carries that particular name. His friends are pigs, and he acts just like one of them. He doesnt say quack, oh no, he says oink. A very confused little fowl, but the song is filled with the kind of hilarity that children love. The beat is quite contagious and youll find yourself moving along to the beat whether you want to or not! Kims vocal talent is awe inspiring.

U.F.O. is hilarious, as the Kartoon Kids meet a Martian and take a spin aboard his spaceship to the planet Zippy Zoltar were they cannot phone home. This one teaches kids a valuable lesson - not to be afraid of differences. It even includes a really cool rap chorus performed by Marty that is sure to have the youngest dancer getting funky with their moves.

Amazingly enough, Kims Uncle actually does sell beer nuts, he brought the snack to Canada from Germany. The song has a fast beat and the percussion really stands out, once again appealing to the feet. Electronics are used to distort the vocals, and they are done in an army training format - Kim doing the lead, her words being repeated by a backing group of male voices. Its catchy... you also end up with a craving for beer nuts!

This is a really fun CD, and belongs in every youngsters collection. Kim Esty really cares about the kids, and is doing her part to help them all grow up believing in themselves and having the courage to dream.
